Jets coach reveals interest in Saints' rookie QB Tyler Shough, admitting he was a high draft target before New Orleans nabbed him.

Tyler Shough certainly wasn't the biggest QB name in the 2025 NFL Draft, but was still a top-tier talent. That's why he went No. 40 overall in the second round to the New Orleans Saints.

Now as the current season is nearing its end, he's ascended as one of the most impressive rookies in this entire class. It's not that he was overlooked during the draft process, because being taken early in the second round is impressive, but he wasn't even in the conversations as a potential top-10 pick like several other QBs entering the event.

But now that he's taken over the offense and has the Saints rolling, opposing teams are being asked more about Shough's performance. Most recently, New Yorks Jets coach Aaron Glenn was asked about the rookie quarterback and gave a positive review. He even mentioned that the Jets really liked Shough leading up to that draft and that he was high on their list. Of course, it's been publicly reported before that he got a top 30 visit with the Jets in the pre-draft process, but went on to be draft by the Saints.

As the final weeks of the season unfold, expect more questions to be asked about Shough, more players to talk about him on various podcasts and other mediums of media and for the excitement and hype surrounding him to grow. If he's able to put together a couple more good games, there will be real reason to believe that Shough is the franchise QB in New Orleans.
