The New Orleans Saints (5-10) keep winning. On Sunday, the New Orleans dominated the New York Jets, 29-6. Now New Orleans has the chance to do something special and win its final five games despite starting 2-10.
Beating this year's Jets team certainly is not much to boast about in 2025. New York has gone 15 games without forcing an interception. The Jets are just one of a handful of beatable teams that are backloaded at the end of a manageable schedule for the Saints. Even so, the Saints are doing what they need to do to win games.
Their current mock draft predictions are certainly encouraging them to continue their winning ways. Another great player fell to the Saints with the No. 8 pick in CBS Sports' latest mock draft. CBS Sports' Josh Edwards had the Saints drafting playmaking wide receiver Jordan Tyson from the Arizona State Sun Devils.
CBS Sports gives the following description of the pick and what Tyson could bring to the New Orleans offense in 2026 and beyond.
"Tyler Shough has inspired the Saints to win three consecutive games. They select Jordyn Tyson to pair with Chris Olave. Both players are versatile enough to play on or off the line of scrimmage, which will challenge the opposition's approach to defending them."
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (12) is a pass blocker by the New York Jets during the first half at Caesars Superdome. Stephen Lew-Imagn ImagesThe Saints know what they have in former Ohio State star Chris Olave. Certainly, the offense has been efficient and productive with rookie quarterback Tyler Shough leading the way. Selecting Tyson would make the New Orleans offense even more quarterback-friendly and reward what Shough has been able to accomplish without a full complement of receivers.
New Orleans does have pieces at receiver to build around after this season. Devaughn Vele has emerged as a surprise since being picked up from the Denver Broncos. Still perhaps there is not another game changing or dynamic receiver on the roster opposite Olave that could bring what Tyson could add to the offense.
At Arizona State, Tyson has 61 catches, 711 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, but his ceiling could be much higher with better surrounding talent.
There is any number of directions that the Saints could go with their pick, but receiver could be the perfect place to start. With Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Carnell Tate mocked to the New York Giants at No. 3 in this mock draft, it does not incentivize New Orleans tanking to get a better pick. The team might be able to win out and still secure a draft pick in which it can take pride. They will look to do so when they make the selection in April.
