The New England Patriots lost to the Seattle Seahawks, 29-13, in Super Bowl LX. We react on this week’s Patriots Roundtable Podcast.

The clock has officially struck midnight on the New England Patriots’ cinderella story of a 2025 season.

In this week’s instant reaction edition of the Patriots Roundtable Podcast, Eddie and Tyler discuss New England’s 29-13 Super Bowl LX loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

The Patriots engineered one of the NFL’s most historic turnarounds in 2025, finishing the year 17-4 after a combined record of 8-26 in 2023 and 2024. That wasn’t enough in Super Bowl LX, as Seattle was able to manufacture enough offense to stay ahead on the scoreboard as time expired on New England’s comeback hopes.

The Patriots entered Super Bowl Sunday as consensus 4.5-point underdogs to the Seahawks, who played to their extraordinarily high level of critical acclaim in the victory.

Kenneth Walker III starred for Seattle in the win, racking up 29 total touches and gaining 161 yards en route to a Super Bowl MVP award.

Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold and wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba were neutralized for most of the game. Darnold completed just 19-of-38 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown, and Smith-Njigba was held to four catches on ten targets for just 27 yards.

But Seattle came through when needed, and much of that was due to another outstanding effort by their defense.

As for New England’s offense, it was just as much of a struggle moving the ball against the Seahawks elite defense. Drake Maye was held in-check for most of the evening, finishing with 322 total yards on 27-of-43 passing with two touchdowns, two interceptions and six sacks. Maye broke the NFL postseason record for sacks in the game (21).

The Patriots’ inability to effectively support Maye in pass protection was evident, and that also reared its head in the running game, as well. New England rushed for just 79 yards on 18 attempts (4.4 yards per carry).

Maye became the second-youngest quarterback to start in a Super Bowl (23 years, 162 days) in the loss, but was unable to sustain a consistent offensive rhythm for the Patriots on Sunday evening as he was battered and bruised by a relentless pass rush and suffocating coverage.

New England’s storybook 2025 season concludes with a Super Bowl loss, putting a temporary damper on a historic turnaround.

The Patriots became just one of 18 teams in NFL history to win 17 games in a season including the playoffs, and are the only team in league history to finish a season with a 9-0 road record.

New England’s championship appearance was one of the most unexpected in recent NFL history, and lays an incredibly sound foundation for the future of the franchise moving forward.

Eddie and Tyler react to the Patriots loss to the Seahawks in this week’s episode of the Patriots Roundtable Podcast, highlighting what worked for New England on both sides of the ball, Super Bowl LX’s top performers, and the moments that led to an unforgettable title victory.
