Austin Reaves Still Remains Sidelined Against Cleveland Cavaliers cover image

The Los Angeles Lakers are still listing Austin Reaves as out against the Cleveland Cavaliers

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to win their third straight game as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.

The Lakers are coming off a 129-118 victory over the Chicago Bulls on Monday, which was preceded by a 116-110 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers are 3-1 on their current road trip and have won four of their last five. They have four games remaining on the trip.

The Cavaliers are red hot at the moment, winning four straight and six of their last seven. They are coming off back-to-back double-digit wins against the Orlando Magic in a home-and-home series.

This is the first meeting of the season between the Lakers and Cavaliers, and potentially the final trip to Cleveland in LeBron James's career. They'll meet in Los Angeles on March 31st.

Los Angeles Lakers Injury Report

As of now, the Lakers are listing Austin Reaves as OUT with a left calf strain.

ESPN's Shams Charania tweeted, and then deleted, that Reaves would be returning to the lineup against the Cavaliers.

Reaves has been sidelined since Christmas Day, suffering the injury against the Houston Rockets in a game where he was limited to 15 minutes. In 23 games this year, Reaves is averaging career highs in the three major categories with 26.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick said that the Lakers were hopeful to get Reaves back at some point on the road trip, hinting that it would be sooner rather than later.

Adou Thiero remains out with a right MCL sprain.

Max Strus remains OUT after undergoing left foot surgery for a Jones fracture. He has yet to play this season and was expected to miss at least four more weeks as of January 6.

In some good news for the Cavaliers, De'Andre Hunter is PROBABLE with right knee soreness. He last played against the Sacramento Kings on January 23. In 41 games, he's averaging 13.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
