The Lakers scored a comeback win over the Mavericks on Saturday, 116-110. They have won three of their last four. This is the fourth game on their eight-game road trip that began in Denver.
The Bulls are red hot at the moment, winning four straight games. They got the best of the Boston Celtics on Saturday, 114-111. They also have victories over the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Los Angeles Clippers during this streak.
This is the first meeting of the season between the two teams. They won't meet again until March 12.
The Lakers are still without Austin Reaves, who is officially OUT with a left calf strain.
Reaves has been sidelined since Christmas, but is getting closer to a return. Lakers head coach JJ Redick said Reaves should be back during this road trip, saying he would be back sooner than later.
In 23 games this season, Reaves is averaging career highs with 26.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists.
Jake LaRavia is listed as QUESTIONABLE with a left quad contusion.
He played 30 minutes against the Mavericks, scoring 13 points and grabbing six rebounds.
He has yet to miss a game this season, his first for the Lakers, and has been starting with Reaves sidelined.
LaRavia is averaging 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, and two assists in 44 games.
Adou Thiero remains OUT with a right MCL sprain. He hasn't played since December 30 and was scheduled to be out at least four weeks from the time of his injury.
Tre Jones is DOUBTFUL for the Bulls with a left hamstring strain.
Jones missed the game against the Celtics after playing 27 minutes against the Timberwolves. He is averaging 12.4 points, three rebounds, and 5.8 assists in 38 games this season.
Zach Collins is OUT with a right first toe sprain. He's been out since December 27 and isn't expected to return before the All-Star break, which begins on February 13.
Collins has played in just ten games, averaging 9.7 points and 5.6 rebounds.
Noa Essengue is OUT after undergoing left shoulder surgery.
The 12th overall pick in the 2025 draft has appeared in just two games for the Bulls this season. He is expected to be out for the remainder of the year after undergoing surgery.
Yuki Kawamura and Emanuel Miller are OUT on G-League two-way deals.
