The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have interviewed Michael Clay of the Philadelphia Eagles for their special teams coach position.
Clay has been the Eagles' special teams coach since Nick Sirianni took over as head coach in 2021, helping the team to two Super Bowl berths and a win last year.
Clay began his coaching career in Philly under the Chip Kelly regime. Clay played linebacker for Kelly at Oregon, and started off in 2014 as Philly's defensive quality control coach.
In 2015, he became the special teams coach, then, when Kelly moved onto the San Francisco 49ers, Clay went with him. In 2016, Clay was San Fran's assistant special teams coach, then in 2017, when Kyle Shanahan took over, he became the team's assistant strength and conditioning coach. Clay then returned to assistant special teams coach, where he was from the 2018-2020 seasons before moving to Philly.
