Two Patriot wideouts teamed up for an event for youth sports this weekend, but will either of them be on the team this season?

As the New England Patriots and the other 31 teams in the NFL gear up for training camp, they still have questions to answer about holes in their rosters, alongside lingering trade rumors.

In the meantime, wide receivers Kayshon Boutte and Efton Chism III hosted youth camps in Worcester, Massachusetts, on Saturday, July 11th, and in Falmouth, Maine, on July 12th.

The event was hosted by FlexWork Sports for ages 6 to 16. It features interactive sessions, skill stations, and photo opportunities. The weekend-long event already has some footage and pictures circulating online of Boutte and Chism interacting with kids of all ages and demonstrating various football drills.

The two Patriots wide receivers seemed to be having a blast on the field with the kids this weekend. Even at one point, Chism and Boutte got on the field to go one-on-one, and the kids tried to take part in catching a pass from an NFL football player as well.

All of this takes place around a strange time for both players when it comes to their futures with the team. Although this event was not affiliated with the Patriots organization, it still raises some questions. Chism may or may not have an uphill battle for a roster spot come training camp.

Boutte has been tied to potential trade packages to teams like the New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Indianapolis Colts. Will it happen? Time will tell.

However, on the Patriots Roundtable Podcast over the past few weeks, some arguments have been made to keep Boutte around in a contract year rather than just trade him away just yet. The more arsenal for Drake Maye, the better.

If Boutte were to be a Patriot in 2026, what would that mean for Chism, as a guy who is just trying to keep his head above water in terms of a roster spot on the team?

Either way, the two still seem to be locked in as players for the Patriots for the time being. In a month's time, we shall see.
