When you talk iconic, all time "pound for pound" fighters, it doesn't take long to get to the name Roy Jones, Jr. The hall of famer was a world champ in the middleweight, super middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight divisions over his career that spanned some 34 years.
With wins over great fighters like Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Vinny Pazienza, Mike McCallum he ascended to a level that few achieved.
And, Jones' career began on the night of May 6th, 1989 in Pensacola, FL. Fresh off being "robbed" on a rigged, bogus, decision against a South Korean opponent for the Gold Medal in the 1998 Seoul Summer Olympics, Jones was ready to start his rise.
