Cadillac and Its New Tool to Get Closer to the Midfield

Cadillac has decided to attack its performance problems from a technological base, the American team announced an agreement with the company Dynisma for the installation of a high end driving simulator at its Indiana base.
The DMG-360XY is considered one of the most advanced technology centers in motorsport and is already used by teams such as Ferrari and McLaren, which demonstrates the leap in quality that the debutant team is seeking, the arrival of the simulator is not a whim, in today's Formula 1 this tool is key for car development because it allows ideas to be tested quickly without the need to go out on track, reducing costs and speeding up response times.
The DMG-360XY will be used to develop the car before manufacturing it, to prepare drivers for each circuit, to adjust the car's setup, to test aerodynamic and mechanical changes in a virtual environment before bringing them to the real track.
Nick Chester, Cadillac's technical director, highlighted the importance of this agreement in an official statement: "Selecting the right simulator platform is a key decision for any Formula 1 team, Dynisma's technology gives us the level of fidelity, response and correlation we were looking for as we continue to develop our technical capability" said the British engineer, who trusts that the simulator will be an important step in establishing the tools to support engineering work and the driver program in the coming seasons.
Dynisma's simulator stands out for its realistic movement on multiple axes, its great precision in data correlation and its high quality LED screens to simulate circuits, all so that the simulation is as close as possible to reality and drivers can arrive at the circuits with a clear idea of what they will find, this technology improves communication between drivers and engineers and helps correlate data between simulator, wind tunnel and real track.
Cadillac arrives at this agreement after a complicated start to the season, the American team sits tenth in the constructors' championship with zero points tied with Aston Martin, which is eleventh.
In Canada, Sergio Pérez retired due to a suspension break and Valtteri Bottas finished last being lapped up to four times, the pace gap to the midfield is more than a second per lap and the team hopes that the new simulator will help them close that gap in the future.
