The A's announced that they have officially added left-hander José Suarez to the 26-man roster today. They have optioned Mason Barnett as the corresponding move, which was to be expected as he was brought in for length, if needed, when Brooks Kriske landed on the IL earlier this week.

To make room for Suarez on the 40-man roster yesterday, the A's designated Eduarniel Nuñez for assignment. He was traded to the Baltimore Orioles for cash considerations on Friday afternoon.
