WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The Athletics reinstated infielder Joshua Kuroda-Grauer from the 60-day injured list and placed infielder Max Muncy on the 10-day injured list with left knee chondromalacia, the club announced today.  To clear a spot on the 40-man roster, the A’s transferred right-handed pitcher J.T. Ginn to the 60-day IL.

Kuroda-Grauer went 2-for-9 (.222) with a double and a walk on a three-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas.  He was placed on the IL July 21 following surgery for a ruptured testicle after fouling off a pitch July 20 at Arizona.  The 23-year-old right-handed hitter was batting .417 with seven doubles in 16 games in his Major League debut prior to the injury.  Kuroda-Grauer was originally selected from Triple-A Las Vegas on June 29 and has hit safely in 14 of his 16 games.

Muncy is batting .230 with nine home runs and 30 RBI in 82 games over three stints with the A’s.  He was batting .306 in September after hitting .206 in August.  This is Muncy’s second stint on the injured list this year as he was out from April 26 to June 7 with a fractured left hand.

Ginn was placed on the 15-day injured list September 5 after going 9-8 with a 3.71 ERA and .679 opponents OPS in 27 games, including 24 starts.  He leads the A’s in wins, is tied for the lead in innings pitched (138.1), and ranks second in strikeouts (121) and games started.
