The Sacramento expansion efforts may have a logo and a team name already picked out and that they're pitching already, according to Jake Gadon of CBS in Sacramento. 

Now, he didn't say what the name of the club could be, but we are interested in what you would call this team. 

At the beginning of the Pacific Coast League, Sacramento had the Senators, but that team name may be cursed. In MLB, there was the Washington Senators (1901-1960), who relocated to Minnesota to become the Twins. Washington had a second Senators team from 1961-1971, and they ended up becoming the Texas Rangers. 

The name works in Sacramento, given its place as the capitol of California. 

The other name with history in Sacramento is the Solons, who are still honored in places around Sutter Health Park.
