The sentiment is that the LA Dodgers have essentially ruined baseball with their deep pockets and blockbuster acquisitions this past offseason.

Thats just not true.

Looking at it from another perspective, it could be the small market teams, like the Brewers, who are directly contributing to fans turning their backs on America's favorite pastime.

The Freddy Peralta Deal, whether it's good for the long term or not, will have an immediate impact on the Brewers this season. Will they make the postseason? Most likely, but how far will they go? They have reached the playoffs in seven of the past eight seasons.

Winning 97 games, then getting swept by the Dodgers in the NLCS, is humiliating enough. But then turning around and making trades like the Peralta deal, after promising to come back better and stronger the following season, doesn't send a clear message to the fans.

Does this look like a commitment to winning it all?
