    The Cardinals will have several candidates that will be included among trade rumors this offseason

    The St. Louis Cardinals will have an interesting offseason in front of them.

    The Cardinals will continue their rebuild and have already started to have several players who have been tied to trade rumors for months, and many of those players have were included in a list of top trade deadline players available.

    MLB Trade Rumors released a list of the top 40 candidates for trade in the offseason, and several St. Louis players were included among that list.

    No. 3 on the list was infielder/outfielder Brendan Donovan, No. 5 was right-handed starting pitcher Sonny Gray, No. 27 was left-handed reliever JoJo Romero, No. 30 was infielder Nolan Gorman, No. 34 was third baseman Nolan Arenado and No. 35 was first baseman Willson Contreras.

    Donovan is under arbitration through 2027. This year, he scored 64 runs in 118 games and hit 32 doubles and 10 home runs with 50 RBIs. He slashed .287/.353/.422 with a .755 OPS.

    Gray is owed $35 million in 2026 with a $30 million club option for 2027. He posted a 4.28 ERA with 201 strikeouts in 180.2 innings pitched across 32 starts in 2024.

    Romero posted a 2.07 ERA and fanned 55 batters in 61 innings pitched across 65 outings and had eight saves.

    Romero is under team control through 2026 and is projected to earn $4.4 million in arbitration.

    Gorman scored 48 times in 111 games and hit 14 doubles, a triple and 14 homers with 46 RBIs. He slashed .205/.296/.370 with a .666 OPS.

    Gorman is under team control through 2028 and is expected to earn $2.9 million in arbitration in '26.

    Arenado scored 48 runs in 107 games and hit 18 doubles, a triple and 12 home runs with 52 RBIs. He slashed .237/.289/.377 with a .666 OPS.

    Arenado is under contract through 2027 and is projected to earn a $16 million salary in 2026.

    Contreras has scored 70 runs in 135 games and has hit 31 doubles, a triple and 20 homers with 80 RBIs. He slashed .257/.344/.447 with a .791 OPS.

    Contreras is under contract through 2028 and is projected to earn an $18 million salary in 2026.
