Last week, it was reported that the Cubs were showing some interest in free agent relief pitcher Robert Suarez. With Edwin Diaz off the board, Suarez was the best current reliever still available  on the open market. 

Well, Suarez is now officially off the board. The Atlanta Braves signed Suarez to a three-year, $45 million deal earlier on Thursday. That means another player the Cubs were interested in is now unavailable to sign.
