The Chicago Cubs designated infielder Ben Cowles for assignment on Sunday afternoon to make room for reliever Shelby Miller on the 40-man roster.  Unfortunately, Cowles will not return to the Cubs.

The Toronto Blue Jays claimed the young outfielder off waivers on Wednesday afternoon. Cowles struggled in the Minors throughout the 2025 season, hitting just .235 with nine home runs, 49 RBI, and 18 stolen bases across 128 games. 

Cowles will now have a fresh start in Toronto.
