Manager Craig Counsell was non-committal when asked who would start for the Chicago Cubs on Opening Day. 

At this point, it could be between Matthew Boyd and Cade Horton. Boyd is the veteran who is coming off a career year in 2025. Horton is the up-and-coming ace who was dominant in the second half.
