The Chicago Cubs let catcher Reese McGuire walk in free agency this offseason. That didn't come as a major surprise, considering the Cubs still have Miguel Amaya and Carson Kelly under contract.
On Wednesday, Cubs fans learned that McGuire signed a Minor League deal with the Milwaukee Brewers.
McGuire hit .226 with nine home runs, two doubles, and 24 RBI across 44 games with the North Siders. He'll now compete in Spring Training to earn the backup job behind William Contreras in Milwaukee.
