The Chicago Cubs will be welcoming back Matthew Boyd sometime next week. Boyd is currently on the 15-day IL due to a left bicep strain, but the left-hander is making significant progress. 

Boyd made a rehab assignment start with the Iowa Cubs on Thursday. He threw 64 pitches across 3 2/3 innings and appears ready to join the North Siders once again early next week. 

He is expected to rejoin the Cubs rotation on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
