Should the Cubs have signed Munetaka Murakami?

Munetaka Murakami could have been a great fit with the Cubs. Instead, he goes to the White Sox for 2 years, $34 million. 

Could play 3B if Shaw doesn't improve. Could play some 1B. Could DH some. 

So much power upside, and low risk since the Cubs have backups to go to if it doesn't work out. Caissie, Ballasteros. etc. 

But I don't like giving rookie regular ABs just because when they haven't proven themsleves yet. Not to mention Murakami is friends with Suzuki and Imanaga. Missed opportunity.
