Nico Hoerner's name has popped up in trade rumors in recent weeks. Both the San Francisco Giants and the New York Yankees have reportedly called the Chicago Cubs about the second baseman. 

If the Cubs do wind up trading away Hoerner, the fanbase would seriously be mad. He has become a fan favorite among fans over the years and was the team's most impactful player throughout the 2025 season. 

It still might be a long shot that Hoerner is traded, but the Cubs are definitely interested enough to listen to offers on him.
