The Chicago Cubs made their fourth bullpen signing on Tuesday afternoon, agreeing to a one-year deal with Jacob Webb. But what's interesting about the Webb signing is that this marks the third Texas Rangers reliever the Cubs have signed in free agency.

The front office first signed Phil Maton to a multi-year deal last month. He started the 2025 season with the St. Louis Cardinals before being traded to the Texas Rangers at the Trade Deadline.

Then, the Cubs signed Hoby Milner to a one-year contract earlier in December. The southpaw appeared in 73 games for Texas last year, where he had a 3.84 ERA and 58 strikeouts. Now, the Cubs have signed Webb, who was with the Rangers in 2025.

It's just a weird, but funny coincidence.
