Former Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Brasier signed a deal with the Texas Rangers on Friday morning. The deal is reportedly a Minor League contract with a non-roster invite to Spring Training.
Brasier appeared in 28 games with the Cubs last season, where he had a 4.50 ERA and 20 strikeouts across 26 innings pitched. He also dealt with a nagging groin strain for most of the season.
He was placed on the 15-day injured list on March 26 due to a left groin strain and then landed back on the 15-day injured list on August 22 due to that same left groin strain. It was an up-and-down season for Brasier, who now lands a Minor League deal with the Rangers.
