The Chicago Cubs decided to place outfielder Seiya Suzuki on the 10-day injured list to begin the season. Suzuki injured his knee while trying to steal second in the World Baseball Classic.
The good news is that Suzuki continues to improve. Manager Craig Counsell said before Tuesday's game that the outfielder will begin a rehab assignment when the team is on the road.
The Cubs begin a six-game road trip starting on Friday against the Guardians. So, Suzuki could be back sometime next week, depending on when he goes on that rehab assignment.
