The Chicago Cubs lost two of three games to the Washington Nationals to begin the 2026 season. What was supposed to be an easy series turned out to be a rough series for the North Siders. 

The pitching wasn't great, and the hitting was questionable as well against a bottom pitching group. The Cubs hit well on Saturday but struggled offensively in the other two games of this series.
