The Cleveland Guardians are currently linked to 22 players for their 2026 international signing class who are set to sign on Thursday, January 15.

Cleveland tends to go with a position player-heavy approach internationally while utilizing the MLB Draft to restock their system with top arms. Position players are considered the safest route usually in the international market especially due to the age and projection as most of the players signed are just 16-to-17 years old.

The Guardians 2026 international class includes 22 players from three different countries. Venezuela leads the way with 12 players followed by eight players from the Dominican Republic and two from Cuba. The class includes nine middle infielders, seven pitchers, three outfielders, and three catchers.

The following 22 players have been arranged in order by their expected signing bonuses from highest to lowest starting with this year's top international sign switch-hitting shortstop Svert Reinoso. Reinoso is currently ranked as the 37th-best overall MLB international prospect for this year's class by MLB Pipeline.

The 17-year-old Dominican switch-hitting shortstop prospect Svert Reinoso is the Guardians top international sign in this upcoming class signing an $820K bonus. He trains out of Alan Nunez Baseball Academy.

Reinoso has an intriguing power potential as he is already 6'0" tall and filled out at 200lbs with room to continue to grow and add more muscle in the future. He is more advanced at the left side of the plate having just transitioned to switch-hitting a couple years ago. Along with his power potential he has a good feel at the plate demonstrating solid contact skills as well as an ability to draw a walk.

Reinoso possess an above average arm and is athletic enough to potentially stick at shortstop. He could also move around the infield including at third base with his strong arm and possibly losing some range as he continues to fill out. A move to a corner outfield spot maybe an option as well.

Sixteen-year-old Rafelis Lara is a switch-hitting shortstop prospect out of the Dominican Republic. He is the nephew of former MLB player Erick Aybar. Lara is expected to sign for an $800K bonus. He tarins out of Jaime Ramos Baseball Academy.

Lara is an offensive first prospect at shortstop with an aggressive swing and approach at the plate. He has an advanced approach and feel from both sides of the plate while looking to impact the ball with high exit velocities as his power has trended up as he continues to fill out and add strength.

The Guardians will likely let Lara continue to develop at shortstop, but he might end up moving to second or third base in the future.

Born in Havana, Cuba the 16-year-old switch-hitting shortstop prospect Karel Naranjo now trains out of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic with Mickey's Prospect Academy.  He is set to sign the third highest bonus for the Guardians class at $650K.

Naranjo physically doesn't stand out with a smaller, thin frame but he has a very advanced approach at the plate for his age with the ability to get on-base at a high-rate drawing walks while producing a high contact percentage with outstanding bat control. He is equally proficient at both sides of the plate with a quick swing and line drive approach.

Naranjo has a high baseball IQ and is considered an above average fielder at shortstop showing soft hands and a strong arm with the ability to make tough plays. He should be able to stick at shortstop with the ability to fill in all over the field.

Carlos Martinez is a sixteen-year-old catching prospect out of Venezuela that trains out of Guiacaipuro Prospect Academy. He is expected to sign the fourth highest signing bonus for this Guardians class at $500K.

Martinez is considered one of the best defensive catchers coming out of Venezuela in this 2025 international class. Behind his 5'11' 175lbs frame Martinez is quick and agile with an above average arm that control the run game well.

On offense he offers plus bat speed from the right side with strong plate coverage and the potential to hit for more power as he continues to fill out.
