Seattle Mariners shortstop JP Crawford had a delayed start to his season due to right shoulder inflammation.
The veteran infielder was placed on the 10-day injured list to begin the season.
The injury was considered minor by manager Dan Wilson and the front office and that assessment seems correct.
The one-time Gold Glove-winner was up with the team ahead of the third of a four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
Crawford participated in early batting practice and also took part in fielding drills.
Crawford has taken part in spring training minor league games down in Peoria, Ariz., and is expected to be placed on a rehab assignment next week.
