Seattle Mariners right-handed starting pitcher Bryce Miller began his rehab assignment with the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers on Friday.

It was a mixed outing for Miller, who was on a two-inning, 30-pitch limit. He allowed three earned runs on four hits.

The good for Miller was his velocity. He stayed in the 96-98 mph range and topped out at 98.7 mph. If He's able to replicate that top-end velocity in the majors, that would mark a new career-high in fastball velocity for the former Texas A&M product.

Miller's current career-high in velocity in the majors is 98.3.
