Any chance the Seattle Mariners, or any other major league team, had at acquiring second baseman Ketel Marte appears to be gone.
According to a report from Mark Polishuk of MLB Trade rumors, via comments made from Arizona Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen, Marte will not be going back on the trade block.
Marte was taken off the trade block in the second week of January after lengthy discussions with several teams didn't materialize into a deal. And based on his comments, it doesn't seem like Hazen is interested in revisiting talks, even with notable free agents Kyle Tucker, Bo Bichette and Alex Bregman signing deals in the last week.
Obviously Hazen's stance can change but it seems like Marte is staying put in Arizona.
