A potential free-agent target for the Seattle Mariners has returned to their American League West rivals.

Third baseman Yoan Moncada was reported to sign a one-year, $4 million contract Jan. 21 to return to the Los Angeles Angels, where he spent 2025.

The Mariners have been rumored to be interested in Moncada last year before he signed with the Angels and he was floated out again as a potential option for Seattle at third this offseason.

Moncada slashed .234/.336/.448 with a .784 OPS and hit 13 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs with 35 RBIs in 84 games with Los Angeles this past season.
