The Miami Marlins have sent first baseman Christopher Morel to Triple-A Jacksonville to begin his minor league rehab assignment. He is expected to play five innings at first base during Tuesday’s game between the Jumbo Shrimp and Gwinnett Stripers. Morel signed with the Marlins as a free agent over the offseason but was a late scratch on Opening Day due to an oblique injury.
