After a 4-6 homestand, the Miami Marlins look to start their six-game American League road trip right against the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday.
Marlins right-handed pitcher Eury Pérez is set to make his ninth start of the season
and his second career start againsst the Twins. In his first career start against Minnesota, Pérez turned in a one-hit, seven strikeout performance and earned a 4-1 win on July 3, 2025.
Pérez has been inconsistent in recent outings. He lost his third straight start on May 6 after giving five runs on four hits including a home run in five innings against the Baltimore Orioles.
Pérez was still able to strike out six batters, with heavily reliance on his four-seam fastball. His 271 fastballs lead the Marlins pitching staff and is the ninth-highest usage in the Major Leagues, although he’s way behind Milwaukee starter Jacob Misiorowski, who leads with 449.
Pérez is looking to improve his luck on the road. Through 25 career away starts, the 23-year-old hurler owns a 6-9 record with a 5.17 ERA (64 ER/111.1 IP) and 117 strikeouts.
