Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report recently gave every team a New Year's Resolution for 2026. For the Pittsburgh Pirates, he's asking everyone to give the Paul Skenes trade rumors a year off.

"Even if they can't necessarily keep him long-term, the Bucs can at least hope to get people to stop talking about Skenes as a trade chip. Winning games would go a long way toward doing that, so it's been nice to see them taking that idea seriously with their actions this winter," he wrote.

In the past, the Pirates' resolution would have been to ask them to spend some money, but they've done that this offseason. Honestly, everyone committing to taking a break on the Skenes trade rumors is a pretty good resolution.
