
Billy Cook had three hits and three RBIs to lead the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 9-7 victory over the visiting Boston Red Sox on Sunday in a Grapefruit League game in Bradenton, Fla.
Cook hit a two-run double in the second inning, a solo home run in the fourth, and a single in the sixth as the Pirates improved to 11-5.
Nick Yorke had three hits, including a three-run homer. Marcell Ozuna was 2 for 4 with a double.
Carmen Mlodzinski (2-0) started and allowed two runs (one earned) in three innings with four strikeouts.
