Rookie outfielder Jhostynxon Garcia stayed hot, hitting a two-run home run to help the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the host Detroit Tigers 7-5 on Friday night in a Grapefruit League game at Lakeland, Fla.

Garcia had two hits to extend his hitting streak to eight games. During the streak, Garcia is 10 for 18 (.556) with a double, two home runs, and four RBIs.

Endy Rodriguez had two hits, and Jake Mangum had a single and two walks.

Mike Clevinger (1-0) was the starter and winner, allowing two runs on one hit in 4 1/3 innings.

Reliever Chris Devenski left the game after being struck in the side of his head by a batted ball. Devenski was alert after the game and treated and evaluated by the Pirates' medical staff.
