The Pittsburgh Pirates have invited veteran right-hander Mike Clevinger to spring training as a non-roster player.

Clevinger, 35, made eight relief appearances for the Chicago White Sox at the beginning of last season and posted an 0-2 record and 7.94 EEA. In 22 starts with Triple-A Charlotte he was 7-2 with a 4.20 ERA.

Clevinger was limited to four starts in 2024 because of multiple injuries. In his last healthy season in 2023, Clevinger went 9-9 with a 3.77 ERA in 24 starts for the White Sox.

Clevinger has spent nine seasons in the major leagues with Cleveland (2016-20), the San Diego Padres (2020-22) and White Sox (2023-25). He has a 101-88 career record and 3.67 ERA in 142 starts and 22 relief appearances.
