Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes ranked seventh on MLB Network’s Top 100 Players Right Now countdown on Thursday night. The 2025 National League Cy Young Award winner, who was ranked 15th on the countdown last year, finished one spot ahead of 2025 American League Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal of the Detroit Tigers and one spot behind four-time All-Star Juan Soto of the New York Mets. 

The top five were the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani, the New York Yankees’ Aaron Judge, the Kansas City Royals’ Bobby Witt Jr., the Seattle Mariners’ Cal Raleigh, and the Cleveland Guardians’ Jose Ramirez.
