The Boston Red Sox bolstered their bullpen days before spring training and signed veteran right-handed  pitcher Tommy Kahnle to a minor league contract.

The 36-year-old right-hander played in 2025 with the Detroit Tigers. He posted a 4.43 ERA and struck out 50 batters in 63 innings pitched across 66 appearances.
