There has been recent news and reports that the Boston Red Sox could be looking to add another infielder to the lineup after missing out on third baseman Alex Bregman and shortstop Bo Bichette.

There's been subsequent chatter the Red Sox could look to add either second baseman Nico Hoerner or fellow second baseman Brendan Donovan from either the Chicago Cubs or St. Louis Cardinals, respectively.

Donovan is coming off his first career All-Star selection in 2025 and has more positional versatility than Hoerner. Donovan is also capable of playing the outfield.

Hoerner earned the second Gold Glove of his career in 2025.
