I like what the Tigers are doing with Skubal

I really like what the Tigers are doing with Tarik Skubal. As much as there's probably temptation from fans to want to keep him around, the organization is recognizing the fact that he's going to leave in free agency. You'd hate to not cash in on an opportunity to get a bunch of young players just to not make the postseason and lose Skubal for nothing. I think it's smart for the Tigers to move him, especially if they're going to get a controllable starting pitcher to replace him, like reports suggest. That way you cash in on the asset, but you give yourself a piece that can help you win in 2027 without having to wait for prospects to develop.Jul 22, 2026

Kenley Jansen might have saved the season

Every game matters for the Tigers right now. A few wins or losses could be the difference between being buyers and sellers. And who knows what's possible if Detroit gets back in the race? With that in mind, Kenley Jansen could have saved the season at Wrigley Field last night. A 3-0 count with the bases loaded and the game on the line, and he battled back to strike out Alex Bregman, showing why he's a future Hall of Famer.Jul 21, 2026
