Via Tigers PR and our own research department, here are a few notes to pass along as the Tigers are set to host the Kansas City Royals for a three-game series starting on Tuesday:
- Tigers hitters have reversed five strikeouts through successful ABS challenges, the most of any team so far this season. Detroit also continues leading all teams in success rate from pitcher/catcher challenges (12 wins, 1 loss - 92%).
- Detroit ranks 6th in FIP among starting pitchers (Field Independent Pitching) with 3.30.
- Kevin McGonigle has been the best hitter in the Tigers lineup with a. 322 AVG | 7 XBH | .920 OPS | 169 wRC+ All 19 of his hits this season, which leads all rookies:
- With yesterday's outing Skubal is the fourth Tigers starter in a row to throw at least 5.2 IP and allow no more than one run. It is the team's longest such streak in a single season since doing it five games in a row from July 30 - Aug. 4, 2013.
