The Tigers, in an effort to address their outfield depth, signed Corey Julks to a minor league deal. Julks, who had a cup of coffee with Houston and most recently in Chicago, batted .300/.374/.477 with 15 home runs and 58 RBIs with Triple-A Charlotte.
He hits for more power against right-handers in his career (7 HR, 13 2B) but hits for a better average against lefties (.244). He primary plays left field and can play right field. All this seems to be is a signing for Toledo, but breaks the streak of the Tigers signing nothing but pitchers as of late.
