Is it time to pull the plug on Giancarlo Stanton after his recent setback?

Giancarlo Stanton is one of the best postseason hitters in recent memory but the biggest ability is availability. Stanton once again has suffered a setback as he strained his other calf and might be out for the remainder of the season

What started off as a monitor injury has turned into a major injury and potential season ender for the 36 year old DH. Thankfully the Yankees got Luis Garcia Jr. to play against right-handed pitching as some Stanton insurance

As much as we love Stanton, we simply can’t rely on him. He’s a walking hospital, has one guaranteed year at $15M next, and you would think Judge would start eating into some DH AB’s

It would be tough to no longer have Stanton on the team anymore, but it’s not like we’re not used to it, unfortunately

With Ben Rice’s struggling defense it seems like he’s the DH of the future at points playing 1B allowing Judge to get in some days there

Just an overall brutal situation for such a respected Yankee in Stanton
