Final: Bulls 135, Knicks 125
Bulls
Giddey: career-high 32 points (12-21, 4-8 3PT), 10 reb, 8 ast, 1 stl, 0 TOV
Vucevic: 26 points (10-17), 7 reb, 2 ast
Josh Giddey finishes with 32-points as the Bulls take down the New York Knicks. Chicago's 3-point defense finally tailed off a bit as the Knicks hit 18 3-pointers on the evening. Conversely, Chicago's offense looked better than it ever has this season as the Bulls dominated the paint, led by Josh Giddey, Nikola Vucevic, and Ayo Dosunmu. With the Bulls unafraid of Towns as a rim protector, they were able to score inside, while putting enough pressure on New York to open up clean looks from 3-point range.
5:59, 4th, Bulls 115, Knicks 110
Josh Giddey gets his first 30-point game as a Chicago Bull as he drives by Deuce McBride and Mikal Bridges for a tough finish in the paint. Chicago's lead gets to five points as they try to stop the Knicks from getting this back to a tie game.
End of the 3rd Bulls 100, Knicks 90
The Knicks win a challenge, resulting in a Karl-Anthony Towns And-1 basket on Jalen Smith. Dosunmu ends the period with a clean crossover and finish over Mikal Bridges to stretch the Bulls lead back to 10 points.
4:08, 3rd Bulls 85, Knicks 79
Ayo Dosunmu commits a foul, hitting Jalen Brunson on the forearm as he goes up for a fadeaway jump shot. Billy Donovan challenges the call, which the Bulls lose. Brunson makes one of two free throws to cut the Chicago lead to five. New York is gaining momentum after Chicago controlled this game most of the way so far.
Halftime, Bulls 72, Knicks 53
Josh Giddey gets a screen and knocks down his fourth 3-pointer of the night to get to 21 points in the first half. The Bulls dominated this game on offense through their passing, collecting 17 assists in the first half. Chicago has played great defense, especially in terms of defending without fouling. The Knicks ended the first half with five total free throw attempts. If Chicago sustains a solid defensive effort in the second half, their offense has done more than enough already to give them a great chance at a win.
3:39, 2nd Bulls 58, Knicks 44
Mitchell Robinson gets a put back dunk off a Jalen Brunson miss in the paint to cut the Bulls lead to 14. Dosunmu and Vucevic have back-to-back layups for Chicago off of assists. The Bulls offense is firing on all cylinders at this point, and they only have one turnover.
End of the 1st, Bulls 35, Knicks 27
The Bulls take an early 8-point lead, collecting six assists on 12 FGs made. The bench is again leading the way for Chicago, with Ayo Dosunmu scoring 9 points in the opening frame. Patrick Williams only has 3 points, but a very loud 3 points, with all of them coming on a nice And-1 finish in which he made a triple threat move and finished through contact.
3:01 1st, Bulls 22, Knicks 20
The Knicks start off defensively with Karl-Anthony Towns guarding Isaac Okoro, likely to play off of him a bit spacing-wise, to be an extra defender to help muck things up in the paint. Chicago deals with this well, and takes and early two-point lead as Patrick Williams hits a cutting Kevin Huerter for a bucket, leading to a Knicks timeout.
