On Saturday night, as Bulls fans were celebrating a somewhat improbable win against the Miami Heat, Arturas Karnisovas and Co. were working on a trade deadline deal.

The Bulls reportedly ate the salary of Sacramento Kings forward Dario Saric, and in the process picked up a pair of second round draft picks. Saric is on an expiring $5.4 million contract. It is, of course, not yet known if the Bulls have big plans for Saric in a rotation that could certainly use his size (6-foot-10), but Chicago will have to cut someone to open up a roster spot for Saric. It has been reported that guard Jevon Carter--who had 11 points in 20 minutes in Saturday's win in Miami--has been waived in a corresponding move.

The Bulls could have more moves on the horizon, but for now, it is at least encouraging that the Chicago was open to using their cap space to acquire draft assets, something they had been reluctant to do in the past.
