The Chicago Bulls signed Yuki Kawamura as a two-way player after waiving forward Trentyn Flowers, as the HoopsHype NBA Insider Michael Scotto reported first, and the team confirmed later on Tuesday.

After building up his fame in the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Paris Olympics, the 5-foot-8 Japanese International decided to challenge the NBA for the 2024-25 season with the Memphis Grizzlies, and he quickly became a fan favorite with a solid presence.

He joined the Bulls' summer-league roster and played with Matas Buzelis, averaging 10.2 points, 6.2 assists, 2.4 rebounds and 2.2 steals in 23.9 minutes across five games. After a versatile showcase, Kawamura signed a two-way contract with Chicago.

Before the season tipoff, the Bulls waived Kawamura after he suffered right lower leg pain in the preseason. Instead of leaving the U.S., he stayed in the Advocate Center for rehabilitation, while appearing in the United Center for some Bulls home games. With the fan favorite making all the way back, we will be able to see him play with a Bulls jersey.
