Who Does Hield Trade Say More About?

Sep 28, 2026 10:00 PM

Buddy Hield's play has dropped off in the last few years, since going to Golden State. I must admit I expected more out of him in a Warriors uniform. At 33, he is still at the tail end of his NBA prime or maybe slightly past it.

The Bulls gave up on Rob Dillingham, who is still 21. On one hand, getting Hield makes sense because the Bulls needed a veteran and more scoring. On the other, giving up on a talented 21-year-old former first round pick is a bit surprising.

Do you think the Bulls' trade says more about what they can get out of Hield, or is more of an indictment of how they felt about Dillingham and his development since the end of last season?
