The Cleveland Cavaliers are hosting the Detroit Pistons for their second meeting in four nights! I'll be live updating this page throughout the night.

The Cavs will be without Max Strus, Donovan Mitchell, Dean Wade, and Darius Brown II (two-way). The Pistons will not have their three two-way players.

STARTERS

Pistons - Cunningham, Robinson, Thompson, Harris, Duren

Cavs - Harden, Mitchell, Tyson, Mobley, Allen

FIRST QUARTER

Cavs off to a 9-2 run in the first few minutes. Defending extremely well again, and they're making it tough. Cleveland is trying to get the ball to Evan Mobley on small switches.

Jaylon Tyson blocks Cade Cunningham on a drive attempt. Nicely done.

Keon Ellis and Dennis Schroder check in, then Craig Porter Jr. next. Harden running with those three and Allen out there.

Cunningham isn't happy with the early whistle right now. Neither is J.B. Bickerstaff.

Ellis is a defensive savant. My goodness. Another steal to add to the collection. Cavs up 21-17 with 2:40 left in the opening frame.

Cleveland rolling out Porter-Schroder-Ellis-Tyson-Bryant to close the quarter.

Caris LeVert with a nice hand from the Cavs faithful as he checks in.

JT's earning his buckets tonight. All at the rim.

Pistons are 4-of-6 from three, while the Cavs are 1-of-10.

END 1Q: Pistons 27, Cavs 25

DET: Cunningham 6p, 3r, 3a, stl. Holland 6p, 2r. Duren 6p. Thompson 3p, 3r, 1a.

CLE: Harden 7p, 1r, 1a. Tyson 6p, blk. Mobley 4p, 3a, 2r. Ellis 4p, 1r, 1a, stl.

SECOND QUARTER

Evan Mobley is showing off the footwork and in early attack mode, punishing guards on switches. Cavs are looking for him. Cleveland on a 10-5 run to open the second.

Jaylon Tyson's up to `12 and feeling it from beyond the arc now.

Mobley and that lineup that finished the first did really well together. In comes Harden and Merrill, and Allen is at the scorer's table.

Cavs are coming up with every single 50-50 ball this quarter.

Tyson has set the tone from tip-off. What a half he's had.

Mobley's fluidity today has been very noticeable. Going full speed to stop on a dime, up-fake Jalen Duren, and drawing a foul was a nice sequence. Gotta knock 'em down.

HALF: Cavs 54, Pistons 48

DET: Cunningham 8p, 6a, 3r, stl. Duren 9p, 4r, blk. Thompson 7p, 6r, 1a. Holland 6p, 2r.

CLE: Tyson 12p, 2r, 2a, 2blk. Harden 10p, 4r, 3a. Mobley 9p, 4r, 4a, stl. Allen 6p, 3r, blk. Schroder 5p, 3a, 2r. Bryant 5p, 4r.

THIRD QUARTER

Cavs open up with three triples out of the gate from the right side of the floor. Cleveland keeping that same defensive intensity going.

Tobias Harris with eight quick ones after going scoreless in the first half on four shots.

Schroder's ability to sneak through the smallest of crevices (and do so in tense moments) is a luxury for Cavs.

Harden got some more run with Mobley for the first eight minutes of the third.

Jarrett Allen (right knee) is doubtful to return for Cavs.

Heck of a showing from Ellis again off the bench besides the foul trouble. Craig Porter Jr.'s gotten it going as well.

END 3Q: Cavs 89, Pistons 80

DET: Duren 15p, 10r, 1a, blk. Harris 17p, 3r. Cunningham 8p, 10a, 4r, stl. Thompson 9p, 6r, 2a, blk.

CLE: Harden 12p, 6r, 5a. Tyson 15p, 4a, 3r, 2blk. Mobley 14p, 4r, 3a, 2stl. Schroder 11p, 5r, 5a. Bryant 9p, 4r, blk.

FOURTH QUARTER

We have enough of a sample size to say that the Cavs are a difficult matchup for Cade Cunningham from a scoring perspective.

Ausar Thompson is really, really good with ball pressure and has springs in his legs.

Nice contributions for former wine-and-golder Javonte Green off the Pistons' bench tonight.

Credit to J.B. He's dialed in on a lineup that's worked, and neither Cunningham nor Harris have been on the floor. Cavs clinging to a 101-96 lead halfway into the fourth.

Ellis fouls out. Now, the Cavs are in a battle. Fortunately, Mobley knocks down a huge three from the left wing with his defender too far back. Cleveland up 104-99 with 4:23 left.

Five fouls on Cunningham at the 1:46 mark. Tyson also has that many.

Another late-release scoop after a burst to the cup from Schroder with Tobias Harris left behind. Cavs up 110-105 with 1:22 remaining in regulation.

Cavs are gonna hang on by a thread and take this one home.
