The Cleveland Cavaliers are taking on the second game of a home-and-home series with the Minnesota Timberwolves! I'll be live updating this page throughout the night.

The Cavs will be without Dean Wade (left knee contusion), Luke Travers (two-way), Chris Livingston (two-way), and Max Strus. The Wolves will not have Mike Conley, Terrence Shannon Jr., and all three of their two-way players.

Starters:

Wolves - DiVincenzo, Edwards, McDaniels, Randle, Gobert

Cavs - Garland, Mitchell, Merrill, Mobley, Allen

FIRST QUARTER

New intro video for the wine and gold.

Cavs open the game with a defensive 24-second violation. Good job.

Lots of Donovan Mitchell in the early going. Cleveland's defensive efforts have been really good to start, which is positive after what happened Thursday. Wolves up 14-11 five minutes into it.

First subs up are Jaylon Tyson and De'Andre Hunter for Mitchell and Evan Mobley.

Sam Merrill's fallen about four different times already guarding. He's a tough dude. Craig Porter Jr. is in now for Merrill.

Anthony Edwards with back-to-back treys.

Good start for Jarrett Allen with four points and five boards. Mitchell and Mobley just came in to get him and Darius Garland right off the bat.

Feels like the Cavs are leaking one player early on a lot of these defensive possessions. Maybe they feel like there's an advantage to be had there with Minnesota crashing?

END 1Q: Wolves 33, Cavs 29

MIN: Randle 7p, 1r, 1a. Edwards 6p, 3a, 2r, blk. Hyland 5p, 2a, 1r. Gobert 6p, 3r.

CLE: Mitchell 7p, 2a, 1r. Allen 4p, 5r, 1a. Tyson 8p, 1r. Mobley 6p, 1a.

SECOND QUARTER

Nae'Qwan Tomlin in now for the Cavs.

Nice offensive board-assist combo for CP to Mobley.

It feels like Cleveland's ball pressure is much better but not yielding the results. Bottom line league...

Man, the Wolves size is really getting to the Cavs on the offensive end. Trying to get into the paint and just not getting a sniff. Hanging heads following, Minnesota capitalizing. Wine and gold down 47-35.

Merrill's been defending his tail off. Cleveland's been just fine in the half-court, I swear.

Ant just tried to tear the house down but the dunk didn't go down. Cavs capitalized with a Merrill trey on the other end. Really, really good minutes from DG in this last stint, especially off-ball.

I mean, the Wolves have made more than a handful of shots that have been hand-in-the-face type stuff. You've got to give them credit. This isn't like the third quarter the other night with no resistance. They're shooting 57-plus% overall and from deep!

Whether it means anything or not, Cavs trailing at half today feels better than when they were up on the road Thursday. Just thinking about shooting variance. I don't know.

HALF: Wolves 65, Cavs 63

MIN: Reid 13p, 4r, 2a, 2blk. Edwards 11p, 3a, 2r, 2blk. DiVincenzo 11p, 4a, 1r. Randle 9p, 3a, 2r. Hyland 7p, 5a, 2r.

CLE: Mitchell 14p, 2r, 2a, stl. Allen 9p, 9r. Garland 10p, 2a. Tyson 10p, 2r. Mobley 8p, 3a. Merrill 8p, 1a, stl.

THIRD QUARTER

Cavs off to a 14-8 run to start the third. Evan Mobley gave Rudy Gobert the Rondo special with the fake-up on a closeout drive, got him to bite, and finished left.

Cleveland's got the scout on Gobert after boards. Just go after that ball when he gets it. Rudy's got four fouls now.

Mobley's been better in the second half thus far, Garland's been in a zone decision-wise, and Mitchell is getting into that mode before the fourth quarter.

The Cavs have just five turnovers through the first 36 minutes. That had to be a huge point of emphasis after the last week-and-a-half.

END 3Q: Cavs 99, Wolves 91

MIN: Edwards 25p, 5r, 3a, 2blk. Randle 16p, 3a, stl. Gobert 8p, 11r, 3blk, 2a. Reid 13p, 5r, 3a, 2blk.

CLE: Mitchell 26p, 4a, 3r. Allen 11p, 10r, stl. Mobley 17p, 3r, 3a, stl. Merrill 17p, 2r, 1a, stl. Garland 14p, 4a.

FOURTH QUARTER

Mobley's second-half response has been a positive. This fourth quarter, he's been extremely aggressive. Even denied a DHO for Porter to cross left-to-right and attack. Nice fadeaway jumper.

JT's been rock solid off the bench this evening. He's been dealing with an illness for a week, but he looks to be feeling better.

What a sequence from Jarrett Allen. He stuffed Julius Randle's dunk on one end, then dunked on him on the other the next play. It may have been a foul on his swat, but that is Allen at his best. Cavs up 126-110 with 5:32 to go.

Tyson's up to 21 now. He's feelin' it.

Cleveland's got this one. Wolves waved the white flag.
