The Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors are set to clash in Game 6 at Scotiabank Arena! I'll be live updating this page throughout the game. Please comment with your thoughts throughout.
Brandon Ingram is out for the Raptors.
Game 5 Starters:
Raptors - Shead, Walter, Barrett, Barnes, Poeltl
Cavs - Harden, Mitchell, Strus, Mobley, Allen
FIRST QUARTER
Jarrett Allen opens with a big-time dunk but takes a tough fall.
Oh, here we go. James Harden and RJ Barrett with double techs after Beard tripped him after a made bucket.
In come Sam Merrill and Dean Wade as the first subs, like last game.
Cavs hitting the offensive glass early on, which is a good sign, but still can't shake the turnovers and leaving points at the free-throw line. Gotta control the controllables on the road trying to put a team away.
Both Jakob Poeltl and RJ Barrett have two fouls with 5:13 left in the first.
Scottie Barnes loves that middie on the left side of the key.
Cavs have been to the line for 10 attempts already. They've got to take advantage...
Cavs up 30-24 with 2:05 to go in the opening frame. A lot of trips to the line, the ball is touching everybody's hands, and Cleveland has an 11-2 rebounding edge. Scottie Barnes is nailing those middies at will, though.
Bad close to the quarter for the Cavs. Turnovers and a lot of biting on pump fakes. It's tied at 32 after one.
END 1Q: Cavs 32, Raptors 32
CLE: Mobley 8p, 4r, 2a. Strus 6p, 4r. Harden 4p, 2a, 1r. Mitchell 5p, 1r. Allen 5p.
TOR: Barrett 9p, 2r, 2a, stl. Barnes 8p, 5a. Walter 5p, stl.
SECOND QUARTER
Jaylon Tyson checks in at the start of the period.
Three fouls on Jamal Shead, a couple each for RJ Barrett and Jakob Poeltl just 30 seconds into the second quarter.
Raptors have Donovan Mitchell stuck in sand and on the fence about his next move every time he puts the ball on the deck.
Kenny Atkinson gambles to challenge JT's offensive foul and comes up no dice. Challenges gone for the game.
Scottie Barnes disguises those jump passes like he's taking floaters, and it's a thing of beauty. Raptors have won this initial portion of the second quarter by a mile. That bench with Jamison Battle and Mamu is doing work, 45-38 Toronto.
Scottie just annihilated JA on a two-hand slam in transition. My word.
CMB inadvertently caught JA on the chin with a sharp elbow on the way down as he went up for a layup. A lot of contact tonight so far.
Raptors lead it 55-49 with 3:19 left to go. Another great job by Ja'Kobe Walter stopping ball and swarming Don, who is forced to call for time.
Scottie Barnes is responsible for 39 points already in this ball game. MVP ball.
HALF: Raptors 61, Cavs 51
CLE: Mobley 11p, 6r, 2a. Harden 8p, 4a, 2stl. Strus 6p, 4r. Mitchell 7p, 2r. Allen 8p, 2blk. Tyson 5p, 2a.
TOR: Barnes 14p, 10a, 3r, 2blk, stl. Barrett 15r, 4r, 2a, stl. Walter 13p, 2stl. Shead 6p, 3a, stl. Murray-Boyles 6p, 3r, stl.
THIRD QUARTER
Raptors open up the second half cold, but Cavs haven't trimmed it down.
Tyson in with Merrill instead of Wade. as the first subs in for Mitchell and Mobley.
Evan Mobley's got 17 and 7 boards in his first 23 minutes.
Huge props to Toronto for getting the Cavs in this kind of headspace. These are players who have been to the playoffs, All-Stars, vets, and the like.
Feels like there are 10 Raptors on the floor. Just arms everywhere. Good ball movement and swing-swings. Cavs down 87-76 with 2:48 left in the third.
Cavs down 11 going into the fourth. They're hitting the offensive glass and have 20 second-chance points. Problem is, that's been the only way they've gotten anything to go.
END 3Q: Raptors 92, Cavs 81
CLE: Mobley 17p, 7r, 2a. Harden 12p, 6a, 5r, 2stl. Allen 14p, 2blk, 1r. Strus 6p, 5r, 2a. Mitchell 11p, 3r. Wade 7p, 4r, stl.
TOR: Barnes 18p, 12a, 3r, 2blk, stl. Barrett 21p, 7r, 4r, 3a, stl. Walter 19p, 3stl, 1r. Murray-Boyles 13p, 5r, 2a, 2 stl.
FOURTH QUARTER
Don with two touch shots in the paint. Let's see if that gets him going.
Five fouls on Shead now with 8:11 left to go in regulation. Walter back in.
Dean Wade's got legs in his jumper tonight. He's 4-of-5 from the field and has two corner triples. Cavs have it down to 96-88 with just under eight minutes to go.
Cavs have ripped off eight straight, and all of a sudden it's 96-93 Toronto. Don got the quarter started with a couple floaters, and he just knocked down a corner trey followed up with a contact drive finish in between two Raptors.
Cavs have it down to 100-99 with 2:57 left to go. Defensive activity is way up, picking good times to send two at either Barrett or Barnes. Gotta capitalize on that, though. It's been tough. Don's woken up, though.
Cavs force a 24-second violation on the absolutely energy-emptied-out Raptors group. Home squad's left it out on the floor tonight. Cleveland trying to steal Game 6 with the final possession and 15.6 seconds remaining down 104-102.
Max Strus in for Jarrett Allen. Calls for timeout on the inbound as Dean Wade hits the deck.
Strus feeds Evan Mobley over the top, who drives left and lays it in over Toronto. It's 104 apiece. A solid, solid night for the Cavs seven-footer.
Cavs and Raptors are heading to overtime after Jamal Shead's double-clutch baseline jumper bounces off the iron. Nice pass from Scottie Barnes, but Cleveland made sure he gave it up.
OVERTIME
Raptors successfully challenge a foul call on Jamal Shead, who would've been fouled out, but Dean Wade was whistled for pushing him into Harden. .
Cavs take their first lead in a while with a Harden mid-ranger. Barnes responds with a push shot over Wade.
Donovan Mitchell with a crucial score after a nice left-right combo to get to the hole with the underhand high-glass finish. Cavs on top 110-108 with 33.7 ticks remaining in overtime.
Cavs just got Haliburton'd by RJ Barrett on a double doink. They turned it over the previous possession with half-court pressure, as Dennis Schroder's pass to Evan Mobley was too hot on the right sideline. Raptors up 112-110 with 1.2 left.
